State Fair Monday!

State Fair the hottest day and only 80,500 others joined us that day. The lowest attendance record in years. 

Not pictured was the fries Celina and I won. Free food always tastes good! 

Weekend at the lake

 

Soccer for Evan!

 We all went to watch Evan play soccer at Quarry park. It's been ages since we were there watching Logan play. Brought back lots of memories for all of us, mostly Logan! 

Evan played Goalie the first half then defense. They won 4 to 1.

Trip #2 to Grand Marais/ The North shore and Northern lights!!!

We had a great time in Lutsen with Logan, Celina, Hesse, Kendra and Evan. 

We got up there late Thursday. Set up 2 campsites at our favorite place, Lake Clara and made a BBQ Chicken dinner with potatoes and mushrooms. We all were pretty tired and just went to bed. It was also pretty chilly and lots of mosquitos from all the rain we've had this summer! 

Friday, we went to Grand Marais and hung out most of the day after we made a camp breakfast, and got coffee.  We shopped for fudge, had a few drinks at the brewery while the kids did a hike. Kendra met up with us around 2pm, we all had fish for a late lunch/early dinner. Then walked the Grand Marais point. Went back to the campsite and had a fire. We actually purchased wood for the first time and had a nice fire! Made some marshmallows and all went to bed after a big foot walk in the woods. I think we were up till 10pm? 

Saturday, we all went to Lutsen after breakfast. The kids did the Alpine slide. Kendra had booked one night at the hotel that could not be canceled. So we swam, did the hot tub, washed up, played Bingo and played some yard games. We went back to the campsite, had a small fire and went to bed. We decided to stay one more day since the weather was nice the last 2 days and even better on Sunday! Just did a lot of hikes and then got fish in Grand Marais, Sat on the beach and had a picnic then a fire back at the camp. Looked for the Northern lights and saw a few good falling stars. 

A really nice long weekend with family!
