26 year anniversary and the Memorial Day Weekend!

It was our 26th Wedding anniversary on Thursday, May 22nd. We meet when I was 26, but dated from 1994 and was married in 1999 so a few years before getting married.

I made dinner reservations at Saint Genevieve a French restaurant in mpls where we had received a gift card from Kendra a few years ago. Finally had a special occasion to go there. It was a small restaurant and reminded us of France, dido to their restaurant decor.

I personally think Steve and his mom make better French food, but we shared the cauliflower on some French bread and that was the highlight of our meal. We will try to recreate this dish for Christmas.

I got the pork shoulder which was okay, just meat no other veggies. Steve had steak and French fries.

We went over the $100 buy $16 which worked out perfectly. It was fun to try a new restaurant and have it paid for. Before we stopped at Wild minds brewery for a drink then went to dinner down the street.

Celina, Logan and Don wanted to do some fishing yesterday afternoon, so we went to Hastings/Mississippi River to try and catch some fish. No luck, but we did have a tail gating lunch.

Milwaukee

We had a nice time in Milwaukee for Logan's Graduation. Drove out on Saturday for the 5 hour ride. We all meet up with Logan and went to dinner at the Public Market in Down Town Milwaukee. The next day, we were all up bright and early to get to the 9am graduation.

After, we all meet up at the house and had a lunch party then went to The Brewery for afternoon happy hour drinks, followed by dinner out.

Happy 60th Steve!!

Happy 60th Birthday Steve!!

We celebrated both Steve's 60th and Mother's Day on Sunday the 11th. On his birthday, the 8th was on a Thursday so he went out with Tim as his weekly outing for drinks at Jenson's and dinner somewhere.

Don made a Mother's Day cake/Birthday cake for Steve. It was delicious!

Our Trip over the weekend, south 3 hours to Prairie Du China next to the Mississippi River in Iowa.

We had to check out the river boat casino which was exactly like the TV series Ozark. So fun. We each got $5 in free play money and I added another $5 and was able to make that last for an hour on a 25 cent machine.

We camped at Big Yellow River State park. Only $15 per night, not too many camp sites and very large and lots of land behind us. A very nice campsite and quiet! We had a bonfire each night. Heard lots of birds and frogs with some coyotes howling and owls at night.

Pizza from a local pizza place.

Tulips in our yard

I count 14 tulips in our front yard. 2 still haven't opened. All red this year.

These two aren't like the other!

Como Zoo

We did a quick trip to the Como Zoo in hopes to tour the Japanese gardens and finally see the trees in bloom. We quickly found out it was closed due to maintenance. It looked like lots of the flowering trees had died over the winter/years. We instead toured the inside conservatory buildings, but they were very hot, humid/tropical.

2025 MN State Fair!

It was a very busy 1st Saturday of the fair. We also had perfect temp around 69/70 for the day. Super Comfortable with a light jacket and ...
