I had purchased a hot pot for a Family gift at Christmas. We finally got around to having it last night. I'd say it was exactly the same as having it at a restaurant. Maybe even better!
Costco had the rolled beef and the kids went to an asian grocery store to purchase the broths and a few other items.
So good and a lot of fun! It's best for 4 people or 5 max to sit around. We'd need another hot pot if we were to do more. I don't think we saved any money by making it at home because we needed a lot of the sauces. The rolled meat at Costco was $15, plus bought mushrooms, and the kids purchased the pork belly, cabbage, bokchoy, some skinny thin mushrooms and some rice noodles. I also added some beef dumplings and some udon noodles/broccoli/potato. In all plenty of food and then some. plus, we have left over spicy broth to make again. We'd just need to purchase some pork broth and of course the meats.
