More of our vacation..

One day at home on Thursday in between taking Logan to college, going to Door County and back to Sauk Lake.

We went back up to Sauk Lake for two nights. The Saturday before leaving to take Logan to college there was a big storm and it took out the neighbors pontoons, docks and some trees. We lost a huge branch that fell over the driveway. So we went up to chain saw it out of the way.

The huge branch! It was slow going to get that all sawed up! Very hard wood! Finally got it all cleared. While Steve worked chain saw, I picked up all the branches laying across the driveway.

Our boat even was blown a few feet away from where we had it. We had to move it back.
Saw this newly hatched snapping turtle.
He was a little bigger than a quarter. Soft shell.
Drinks and wine/beer at the winery. We also stopped in Alexandria at the resort Steve and I stayed at years ago when we first came up to the lake. We stayed one night on the beach at Sauk in a loaner tent and the other night at this resort. We used their bikes and looked at the horses.

Steve was ready to go on Sunday since we didn't bring the boat, kayaks or bikes. There was really not much to do, but it was a bummer because the weather was perfect with little to no wind!
Monday, Labor Day we were off to the State Fair. First time in years that Steve and I went alone to the fair.

We got there early to beat the crowds. Not sure if we really should have gone since Covid, Delta is going crazy. We did wear a mask on the bus and in any building. Plus, tried to stay away from people and it is outdoors. Last year with Covid they canceled the State Fair. First year we didn't get to go to the fair.

First and best thing we ate, a new fair food at the RC building The Naughy Biscut. Delicious! Pork belly, cheese, peppers and onions.
We pretty much walked the entire fair before it started getting super busy around2pm.
