Nelson Family 2021 to present: Another weekend at the lake

Another weekend at the lake went by far too fast. Seems we just get there and before we know it, it's pack up time. We bring so much stuff when others join us, that it takes a good 2 to 3 hours of set up time.

We had to bring pretty much everything that we set up for the 4th. Just one extra tent this time.

Steve's parents and Steve's Aunt, Annie from France all came up to the lake along with Celina and Don. Logan was away all week in the BWCA with a friend and 4 others.

I made sure everyone had their own tent and a porta-potty in each of the tents too. Plus, we had the food tent and tarp over the picnic table. Just a lot to set up. In all the tent set up, Steve didn't stake down the large tent on one side. It just so happened to rain for about 15 minutes Friday and soak the entire inside of the sleeping bags and air mattress. It was the tent for Steve's parents. They ended up going to the hotel that night, which was probably for the better! We found out the next night, that his father couldn't get up from the double air mattress very easily and he got up a few times to pee at night. We should have brought the cots for them. We just didn't think about that part! They are 84/85 years old so not as easy for them to even Glamp. I don't think they will be back to the lake ever again, unless once we build a cabin they come up.

We used the neighbors dock to get them all on the boat. We no longer have a dock and they can't exactly climb into the boat from the water. Zoey our 7 year old springer didn't like the boat. She wanted to jump out, so that made it stressful.

Annie got a therapy shoulder session on the beach from Don.

We had nice nights by the fire and had roasted marshmallows.

Did a lot of cooking dinner and breakfast. Burgers and chicken taco's were on the menu. I made crepes fore breakfast along with eggs, sausage and potatoes.

Zoey was so good being off leash. She was all tired out and just wanted to go to bed. Off to the tent she went. We had to switch out tents since we orig put Steve's parents in the big 3 person tent. Since it rained and one of the tent legs collapsed, we didn't want to risk a round 2, so we went in that tent and had zero issues.

The other two tents on the other side. we have room for at least 4 large tents on the beach. I think next year, we will replace the 3 room tent with one big dark room tent that is 20ft long. This way, we will have more beach room.
