The other half!

We finished the other half of the beach at the lake. We did the first half last summer in August and now the whole beach is complete!

The right side was last year and the left was this year. We now have two beaches and three areas to sit. Just need to build one more land dock section to set the chairs on.

We finished all in about 24 hours! Started putting down river rocks at 10:30am and worked till 8pm, again the next day got up and started working by 8am to 10am.

Steve was pretty fast this time at working the skid loader. It was a learning curve last summer and it took twice as long to do the first half of the beach.
We tried to plan out how we wanted this half of the beach to look. It really came together better then we were thinking. We just wanted another beach area and to build back out the shore line to capture back some of the eroded areas.

The bottom photo was the before boulders and beach area. The shore was only held in place by weeds and the tall grass.

We brought this side way out to make a sitting area and connect it to our fire pit sitting area. Steve put down river rocks to be able to drive out and also build it up. Then added boulders and last sand!
The grass got all torn up from the skid loader tracks. We had to rack back the sand and add a bunch to get the picnic table area level.
We are all so happy how it all turned out. Now to get a dock and build another sand platform to be able to sit off the ground.

All my solar lights and tiki torches that lined the beach area. We don't have electricity so its nice to have the area all lit up.
The leaves are covering the tree trunks that I wrapped in solar lights. I need to re-do one tree where half the lights are out. I did wrap two more trees on the beach with more lights. I'll be purchasing two more packages of lights to finish up all the trees.

Looking out at the smoky sky from all the fires from Canada.

Our shaded picnic table area on the beach.

Huge sand pile

Now time to enjoy. Can't wait till we start the well/septic system followed by the cabin build. First we need a 20 ft dock and a few more solar lights!
