A day in Milwaukee

We drove Logan back to college Sunday morning. Spent the day in the car and arrived around 2:30pm. We took him shopping at Target to load up on everything he might need and then dropped him off. We checked into the Hyatt in DT Milwaukee, then meet up with Logan for dinner after we had a few brewery stops.

We did a quick stop at the lake for a winter photo.

Same spot as we took photos of in the summer when it was HOT! A very windy and chilly day!

We sure didn't stay long, looking at the lake!

It's too big to freeze!
Papst Brewery by our Hotel. Stopped in for a drink here.

Our hotel Hyatt, view of the city.

The Hyatt was very new hotel, in an old brewing area of town. We liked the to the floor window and the couch area. Plus the bathroom had just a shower, no tub! Breakfast was also free. Since its winter, the college gets discounted rates at some hotels. We stayed for $110. Normally in the spring and summer its at least double that price!

We drove to the other side of town, which we had not been to during summer. The end of the river that goes into the lake. Found this restaurant on the end we might stop in for a drink in the spring.

The bridge going over the river on the way out to the lake
The park at the end of the road

Went to dinner with Logan at that French restaurant again. I have to remember to get the spicy sauce on the side! These chicken slider sandwiches were HOT!!

Had a few beers!
Shared carrot cake for dessert!

Monday, we stopped at the Public Market to pick up Crack Salmon for Kendra and Celina.

Saw this cute little ice skating rink outside of the market.

I can't imagine anyone actually skating! Maybe little kids?

On the drive home, I took a few photos of some Wisconsin parks that we'd like to camp at or near in this summer. Ideas of mini vacations! I'd also like to try car camping. Just sleep in the back of my SUV for a night or two and not set up a tent. We might be picking up Logan for Spring break and this would save a bunch of money if we just stayed over night some where close or at least a half way point so we didn't have to drive 10 hours in one day!

Back home before sun down.
