Saturday morning, I went to work painting the rest of the top deck rails. I wanted to at least finish the part we see when everyone was over to celebrate Steve's birthday that night.
Our deck already looks 99% better. We still have to stain the deck boards which will happen Monday.
I'll have a few touch ups to do on the rails in some spots since I was rushing to finish.
I have the stairs which we are painting all black! They don't get sun and the paint didn't all come off, so the quick solution is to just paint over the brown and be done till they are in need of replacing.
They are pretty rough, so it will be a huge transformation after I'm done!
I made Steve a cake and almost had enough frosting to finish. It was tall! I made a sheet pan cake and stacked the layers. Used whipping cream and marscopone to one half and the other whipping cream and vanilla pudding to make a custard then added in the lemon curd filling and the other added some raspberry jelly to the marscopone with leaving some plain too. It was really good, light and great lemon flavor. The raspberry got lost in all the lemon, so I should have made entire layers with the raspberry. Not the prettiest cake, but tasty!

Today is Mother's Day. Again we are having family over for breakfast. We kept it easy, waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and hash browns. Not sure what the plan for the rest of the day will be as Steve didn't want to work on the deck. Saving that for Monday! It's going to be 86*F!! Wow! Then cools off again to the mid to low 70's.
I do need to advertise next week, we do have rain in the forecast Wed- Saturday. Which is a bummer!
I do have an inside project to clean out the window sills and wash the screens. Plus, finish power washing the back of the garage which it won't matter rain or shine to do that. There is always cleaning the garage and painting the walls. We still need to put down dirt and seed the front yard in some spots, which should be done Tuesday.
I'm cat sitting starting this Saturday night - next Friday a.m. extra money is also good since we will be at the lake in two weeks for the Memorial Day weekend to kick off the summer!
