Happy birthday Kendra!!

 We celebrated Kendra's 37th birthday on Sunday with a brunch. 

I made two quiches, caramel rolls and a raspberry/white chocolate cheesecake. 

Tuesday...

 I'm officially out of my Pumpkin Spiced iced coffee. Now, I'll probably go back to a non coffee drinker. Although, I did try a coffee at the store with some creamer and I liked it. I sure don't need to get addicted to needing a coffee every morning. It is a nice warm you up drink when hot or cool you off iced summer drink. I'll just save it for once in awhile. 

It sounded like Logan has a good birthday with friends. We might not have been there to celebrate his 21st birthday, but we sent him packages and cards, plus called and face-timed him yesterday morning. He should get the last of the birthday gift packages today. We will also see him in two weeks while he is home for the thanksgiving holiday. Some of Logan's friends posted Instagram photos and I took some screen shots. 

It's going to be seasonally warmer the next 10+ days. I see some 50's which is perfect for November! Got to get out and enjoy the warmer fall weather!

 My baby is now 21! Where did the time go? We won't be able to celebrate with him today since he is away at college. I did send 2 large packages of misc gifts along with a card/gift card and cash. His grandparents and sister also sent birthday stuff. Sounds like his fr

iends went out with him Saturday and he had a few too many drinks/shots. Not feeling the best on Sunday where he was going to brunch and tonight dinner with friends. All pre-birthday celebrations!!

 So much to do today! I don't even know where to begin. Thankfully, I did start on some of the prep yesterday, which was going to the store for everything I needed today.

Set the table for Birthday Brunch on Sunday. 

Decorate the house

Find a new spot for our cookbooks

Mulch the leaves in the front and back yard

Make a quiche, cheese cake and cinnamon rolls

Mail Logan's birthday package

Spray paint some trim for Steve's work project

Paint touchups on our cabinets, doors and chairs

Clean up the kitchen and vacuum. 

I'd also like to go to the gym and take Zoey on a walk since it's going to be nice today. Not sure that's gong to happen. 

Sunday will be birthday brunch for Kendra, followed by the Vikings game at noon if I watch it?? Then ? Maybe finish mulching the leaves in the back yard and taking Zoey for a walk in the park. We also get an extra hour, fall back day light savings time. 

Then the weekend will be over and we will be right back to Monday! 

Next week is more of the same but nice above average temps. I'll get out and do some afternoon advertising, working in the mornings and then hopefully, fitting in the gym too. Plus, getting outdoors a little taking Zoey for a walk at the park. Plus, there are always more bills to pay! Fun, fun! 

It's hard to think of new fun things to do on the weekend. We have one more weekend and then it's T-day, Logan will be home for a few days. There are a few new good movies coming out that I'd like to see on a cheap movie day Tuesday night. I've started doing a tiny bit of Christmas shopping. This is the holiday that I'd like to skip, just so much stress with having to buy gifts and figure out the perfect things and make sure everyone gets the same amount. Just never ending, but in the end does anyone even remember last year? I sure don't. What I love most is just the getting together, eating good food and playing games. Other than losing my Dad over 20 years ago, we are all still here. Which is always a plus! Can't take that for granted as I know life keeps changing and that means holidays too. 

Fall Back!

The 2 inches of snow we got the day before Halloween is pretty much all gone. Today we are going to get back up to almost 50, but I do see rain! Ugh! Well, at least Sunday will be almost 60 degrees! Nice we will  have to take Zoey for a walk in the woods! 

Since the snow melted, I'll have to mow up the rest of the leaves on the ground. Round 2 of the front yard mulching of leaves! 

Today I work at noon. I'm going with Celina to her dentist filling appointment this morning. After we will stop at this furniture sale. I could use two chairs and a bookcase. I really shouldn't be buying more furniture with all the birthdays and holidays coming up, but why not look and see if there are any great deals?? I'm also looking to see if there is a twin bed for Madelyn. If its cheap enough, that might be our birthday gift to her! That if I can find anything. 

I mailed off a package to Logan for his birthday yesterday. I wasn't able to fit everything in that I purchased. Mostly just food snacks etc.. So I might have to mail another box. I will add a few more things he requested like quarters to do laundry and some popcorn with avocado's. I deposited cash into his bank account yesterday, so he is set with money. I also sent off a gift card in his birthday card that I'm mailing today. At least I know if it's in a gift card, he will use it for food and not just fun going out money. I'm excited to have him home for a few days over Thanksgiving weekend. Time will go quick, but he will be home again in a few weeks for the Christmas holiday for an entire month! 

He had kind of a rough day trying to get his drivers license renewed. There wasn't any where to get an eye exam for free. Eye places want at least $130 which is crazy. He needs an eye exam to send into the drivers place to get a renewal. I am guessing is best to just wait till he is home and then to to the DMV here since he can't renew it in Wisconsin. Makes things complicated. 

November Warm UP!

 We've had some chilly below normal temps the last week. We are in for a warm up to the high 40's starting on Friday!! I was not loving being in the high 20's and 30's, so the warm up will feel great! 

Steve's dad was working outside and heard a pop in his leg. After hours at Urgent care, followed by the emergency room, it was just a sprain. They were thinking maybe a blood clot. So that was good news. He still can walk, just super slow and is supposed to rest and take it easy. He is 85! They have lots of stairs since they have a split level house. I see that being more of an issue as they get older! Yikes!! They also have no plans of moving. Glad he is able to be home and still going up and down the stairs. I was a bit worried they would be moving in here for awhile. 

Steve picked up more work for this week and maybe a little more next week for our neighbors. That was great news!! I did a little advertising yesterday after work. I could have done more, but it was a start! I'd like to fill his schedule out again for months. It's that not busy time of the year, and it usually always picks up after the holidays. Plus, spring time goes crazy again with jobs. We just need to fill in a little to get through the holidays. It's always a busy time of year for me, so that's the trade off. I too could pick up more new clients, so a little advertising for both of us will be good. We already picked up a few jobs just from the small amount I've done. 

I made dinner last night with some leftover ingredients from our pizza meal. Made the large stuffed pasta shells which is one of my favorites. Now we have leftovers for lunches and dinner this week. We also took out a turkey breast and will do a mini before T-day turkey meal. I would have turkey thought the year, but we never seem to get around to making more of them. We won't be doing all the sides, maybe just some potatoes and call it good.

 We went out and just put on wigs last night. We were planning on playing Bingo, but nope, they didn't have it last night. Ugh! We just went bar hopping with other neighbor friends and Celina/Don.
