Starting the morning off making more Oj and freezing it for snacks!

I really need to lose weight and not keep saying later or tomorrow! I will lose weight for the summer, so it needs to happen now! Every day!!! Of course I have V-day plans to make a cake! Why not! lol..

The bathroom, made a little more progress Sunday! The white shower wall grout is done. Now Steve moves on to all the decorative and floor tiles with black grout. It has to dry 24 hours. After he can do all the plumbing and install the shower door Tuesday! I get clean up and then just painting the walls and doing the touch ups on the vanity side. I'll be waiting till its about 52*F to spray paint the mirror and the towel bar. I'm just going to reuse what we have and spray paint it matte black.

I made oven pancakes. Probably should have just put them into a large pan. They didn't really taste like pancakes. I just liked the crispy edges and left the middle.

It's going to be 42*F Tuesday! Might feel like spring around here!!

We went out last night for a beer and to play cribbage.

All fun and games until we saw this sight! Gross!

How do you not feel your whole butt crack sticking out? You never see women doing this! Only guys!! WTF!!

I need to get on the tic tock bandwagon. Just need to figure out what my content will be. I love doing snapchats, but I'm never in them. I'll have to brainstorm on this!!

Its all coming together!

Ta da.. all the tile is 100% done! Steve will grout today and Monday I'm expecting the shower door installed, fixture back on and it functional for the first shower!

Went shopping at Marshalls and TJ Maxx in hopes to find a new mirror for the kids bathroom. No such luck! I did find a new metal water bottle for myself. I offered to get Steve a new bottle but he said nope. I need to switch from refilling plastic water bottles since they leach plastic and it's bad for your health. I aways refill mine a ton before recycling them.

I didn't think I'd love my new water bottle. Since I got one with a screw top and a large opening for ice, its just as nice as my old plastic bottles!
Friday nights Korean Chicken Sandwich. Minus the mayo for me. I do love that red sauce, so much I could drink it! lol.. Even used it on my burger in place of ketchup!

Didn't need this ice cream cone, but it sure tasted good.
The cone was nice and crunchy, red velvet with coffee ice cream. Not exactly diet foods! I do need to get back to dieting. Wasted a whole month of January not being very focused on weight loss. Well I try to lose weight every day, only eating PB nuggets for breakfast, snacks frozen oj cups. Dinner is whatever. Also popcorn for a snack. I've even cut down on drinks, limiting it most weeks to just 2 drinks. Exercise is a hit or miss. That too needs to change and sitting around far too much in the afternoon/evening!

Friday was our afternoon fun day!

The last stop of Friday night, Malcolm Yard for 2 beers, chicken sandwich and a burger with fries. Steve and I share all the food. Oh, and an ice cream cone. Delicious night out!

We started our Friday fun afternoon at Como Zoo. Made reservations for 2:30pm. It was actually a lot better reducing the number of people going to the zoo. Not so crowded! We actually had the primate building pretty much to ourselves and at some times, we were the only people in there! That never happens! I suppose there are some really good business decisions coming out of Covid!

Always our favorite part of the conservatory. The flowers!! We sat in there for quite a while just soaking up all the flowers, colors and people watching.

Since we can't go any where tropical, this is our best option for green and the tropic temps.

Felt good to soak up the greenery!

I'm I good till spring? Not really, but it does help a tiny bit!

The kids bathroom is soooo close to being almost done! The floor tile, just a few more cuts by the door and the shower curb needs to be finished. I'm sure that's all to be finished this Saturday. Sunday, maybe grout and Monday door and plumbing installed?? I might have to be the first to take a shower in there! I also need to get a squeeze and some vinegar spray to keep the shower glass door from being coated in a while salt (calcium/magnesium) film. We have really hard water and got rid of the water softener after it wrecked the toilets and plumbing by clogging them all up with this orange brine salt. I'm really loving how the bathroom is turning out!

A little Zoey pix with her baby.

We missed the morning hot air balloon lift off. To be honest, it was -1 out this morning. We might just go for the 3:30pm time this afternoon or Sunday morning 7:30am lift off.

I'm cat sitting/feeding this weekend. Just a quick stop over in the morning and at night. I'd better go do that asap!

My plan for today,
Fed the cat
Shop for a new mirror for the kids bathroom
Stop at Costco get water bottles
Target, pick up PB pretzels and a squeeze
Exciting plans!!

Life updates ...

The on-going kids bathroom project! Getting closer to being done. Steve put all the decorative, pencil tiles on the outside of the shower to cover up the unfinished tile edge. He has a little more of that to put on around the shampoo shelf, started the floor tiles yesterday and hopefully will finish all the floor tile cuts today. Its just a guess, but Saturday might be grout day for everything? Sunday, install the shower fixture, door and put back the toilet? We will just have to paint the side of the cabinet and put on the new TP holder. I'll have clean up, dusting etc..

I still need to shop for a new vanity mirror and a new light above. While Steve works, maybe I can get those two items bought and checked off my todo list!

This was deciding how we wanted the tiles to go. I liked the straight tiles along the vanity better then at an angle. We had the old 12 x 12" tiles at the weird angle. The bathroom turns and is not all straight, so we had a few directional choices! I just think its more modern straight and wanted a change from the old way we had the tiles.

I completely forgot about this event. We went to it the Feb before Covid started. I'm not sure they did this last year, but its back on for us. Just depends on wind conditions! We'll probably just go to the early 7:30am launch and get breakfast after. Makes for something to do right away in the morning!

I determined my toe is not broken. Just super bruised. My finger, that could be broken as its still swollen and hurts a little when I bend it as far as I can.

I don't have a photo, but I made pasta shells yesterday and ate them for a late lunch/early dinner. I'll be the only one eating them. It will make good ready to eat lunches. I'm already hungry for lunch! Yum, its one of my favorites!

I'm thinking about maybe starting to make diners for us during the week. Steve only likes cooking on Sundays. No one usually wants to eat what I cook but I'm tired of not having a plan for dinner. I'd like to try new recipes on Pinterest too.

I'm also wanting to make a cute V-day treat. Maybe cupcakes or a rolled sponge cake? I'll be the only one eating that too, so whatever I make must also go into the freezer! This way, I don't have to eat it all at once!

Feb 2nd Crepe Day.. It's a tradition!!

Crepe Day is a French tradition every February 2nd at our house that we celebrate. I certainly don't mind having crepes for dinner!

Steve's mom makes at least a 100 or not more crepes for us all to eat. I brought over a jar of raspberry jelly because that's my favorite after grape on crepes. Everyone else has fruit toppings, blue berry and strawberry or maple syrup. I think we'll add Nutella next year!

There is also the flipping of the crepe with some money on top of a cabinet for good luck all through the year. We skipped that part, but I think Steve's mom still plans to do that part.

It was also Amanda (Tim's Gf) and Annie in France's birthday on Feb 1st and 2nd so we kind of celebrated both of those days too.

I was looking at photos on Steve's mom's frig and came across this photo I've never seen. They were in France, Steve in his 20's looking all hair feathered and glasses!

Just some Snap Chat fun photos after dinner.

Groundhogs Day!

Yes, it sure feels like Groundhogs day! I stubbed my toe yesterday morning on the glass shower door that is still sitting in the front room against the wall/cabinet! I got up fast to help open the front door. Steve was having a hard time entering the code to open up the door and he was jiggling it a lot. I got up quick to help him out and that's when I hurt my toe. Feels broken but I think its just really bruised! I did wrap the three toes in bandaids to help protect the toe. I was not walking great yesterday!  I haven't even looked at my toe today, so not sure how black it is. This was taken about 10 minutes after stubbing it!

Yes, I do need a pedicure!! It was supposed to be my diet reward but I need to get back on track to give myself that reward!

I had a lazy day with Zoey on the couch after messing up my toe!

Shower update! The floor is all glued down. Just need to finish the bottom edge of the shower walls and then Steve is ready to finish tiling the floor!

Played Bingo again last night in Hastings. No winner bingo's for us! We were close many games! Still a fun night out and something todo on a Tuesday night!

It's a French tradition on Ground hogs day to eat crepes. We are going over to Steve's parents house to have a dinner of crepes. I like mine with raspberry or triple berry jelly. So that's the plan for tonight!

A day in Milwaukee

We drove Logan back to college Sunday morning. Spent the day in the car and arrived around 2:30pm. We took him shopping at Target to load up on everything he might need and then dropped him off. We checked into the Hyatt in DT Milwaukee, then meet up with Logan for dinner after we had a few brewery stops.

We did a quick stop at the lake for a winter photo.

Same spot as we took photos of in the summer when it was HOT! A very windy and chilly day!

We sure didn't stay long, looking at the lake!

It's too big to freeze!
Papst Brewery by our Hotel. Stopped in for a drink here.

Our hotel Hyatt, view of the city.

The Hyatt was very new hotel, in an old brewing area of town. We liked the to the floor window and the couch area. Plus the bathroom had just a shower, no tub! Breakfast was also free. Since its winter, the college gets discounted rates at some hotels. We stayed for $110. Normally in the spring and summer its at least double that price!

We drove to the other side of town, which we had not been to during summer. The end of the river that goes into the lake. Found this restaurant on the end we might stop in for a drink in the spring.

The bridge going over the river on the way out to the lake
The park at the end of the road

Went to dinner with Logan at that French restaurant again. I have to remember to get the spicy sauce on the side! These chicken slider sandwiches were HOT!!

Had a few beers!
Shared carrot cake for dessert!

Monday, we stopped at the Public Market to pick up Crack Salmon for Kendra and Celina.

Saw this cute little ice skating rink outside of the market.

I can't imagine anyone actually skating! Maybe little kids?

On the drive home, I took a few photos of some Wisconsin parks that we'd like to camp at or near in this summer. Ideas of mini vacations! I'd also like to try car camping. Just sleep in the back of my SUV for a night or two and not set up a tent. We might be picking up Logan for Spring break and this would save a bunch of money if we just stayed over night some where close or at least a half way point so we didn't have to drive 10 hours in one day!

Back home before sun down.

A day

Sauk taking the dock out of the water for the season. Or at least trying to. Nothing ever is easy!! Steve was able to lift all the legs on ...
